People that needs counseling.

In our previous post, we said that counseling is a professional help being rendered to people that are in problems and wounld want to come out of that problem. This brings us to the fact that counseling is virtually for everyone. From the young to the old. In fact counseling has no age limit as it starts from birth.

You will agree with me that from birth, we have been counseled in one way or the other by our Parents, close relatives, friends, siblings but not in a professional way sha. Well, that is counseling for you. At every point in our lives we need counseling to take some certain decisions that will affect us positively.

Everybody needs counseling from the old to the young, Married couples, students, workers in an organization. We also have counseling for people with special needs. The blind, the crippled, people in Rehabilitation centres, in fact the list is endless.

Young people most especially students are faced with the problem of career choice. The counselor together with the student will sit and discuss more about different career choice, courses related to that career, institutions that offers that Course. So you see that counseling is very necessary at every point in our lives.

Old people also needs counseling and this is because most aged people are always anxious about the life they have lived and so this often leads to depression if not handled properly.

Married couples need counseling for their marriage to avoid cases of divorce. The counselor lists problems that are very like to occur in marriage. Issues ranging from Financial issues, Trusts, Family etc. And together eith the couple, they tackle the problem together.

Every Organization ought to have a counselor. It is that counselor that will relay the needs of the workers to the management of that organization to bring about Unity and Harmony in that organization. An organization whereby the workers are poorly treated or not paid as at when due, is doomed to fail.

Counseling for people with special needs is very important. They are to be counseled for coping skills, careers, vocations, Education, Life skills etc. This is because many of them are handicapped and they need to be counseled on how to make the most out of their disabilities. So, the blind, crippled, deaf etc. Shouldn’t be left out when it comes to counseling.
